Project partners

Turku University of Applied Sciences (Turku UAS) is an inspiring community of 10,000 members – an innovative and multidisciplinary higher education institution, which creates international competitiveness and well-being for Southwest Finland. Its’ graduates are practice-oriented professionals with top competencies. In the field of applied research, Turku University of Applied Sciences represents the top tier in the country with Turku UAS coordinating or acting as a partner in over 200 RDI projects yearly. Turku UAS establishes RDI programmes that strengthen its stakeholders’ innovation networks in a future-oriented way. The volume of RDI project activities in the year 2019 was more that 12 million Euros at university level.

Valencia Polytechnic University (UPV) is a public Higher Education Institution actively involved in international cooperation and mobility projects. UPV hosts nearly 30,000 students and employs over 4,000 people (teaching, research, and administrative staff). It is the first technological university in Spain according to international rankings (e.g. Shanghai Ranking of World Universities) and offers 39 undergraduate programmes, over 80 official Master’s degrees and 30 Doctorate programmes. Even though UPV focuses mainly on engineering and technical studies, it also hosts a Faculty of Fine Arts and a Faculty of Business Administration and Management. It receives every year over 1,800 exchange students and sends over 1,400 UPV students abroad under different mobility programmes. UPV has experience in the management of European projects and takes part in different actions: Erasmus+ (Capacity Building in Higher Education, Knowledge Alliances, Strategic Partnerships, EMJMD, etc.), Creative Europe, Horizon2020, etc. and is a Partner in several international networks such as Magalhaes, Santander Group and CARPE.

Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) with around 16 000 students is the second largest institution of higher education in the Hamburg region and one of the largest of Universities of Applied Sciences in Germany. Within its four faculties, Engineering & Computer Science, Life Sciences, Design, Media & Information, Business & Social Sciences, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. HAW Hamburg is a member of the European University Association and therefore has a specified amount of research activities which is also demonstrated by more than 135 PhD students in 2019. To create innovative learning and teaching processes is one important goal of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences for more than a decade. To foster the quality of teaching and learning, our university successfully has participated in several national tenders. Additionally, multiple project- and problem-based learning opportunities with a high amount of practical implementation of theoretical knowledge in the curricula and manifold contacts to different employers characterise the way our university helps to manage the learning processes of their students. For several years the development of innovation competencies for students is one aim which is tackled in this context.
